I hadn’t been shopping for a while now so I went to my nearest Superdrug and online to Amazon to purchase a few things.
I didn’t buy much, but thought I’d write a blog post on the haul.
I needed to replace my brushes so thought I’d try out Sam & Nic Chapman’s range. I purchased two; the foundation brush which I’ll use when I need more coverage and the expert face brush for everyday use.
I’ve yet to use the foundation brush but this morning I used the expert face brush which is great if you want light – medium coverage. I really like the feel of the brush and it helps that it looks great!
More importantly it blends the foundation in perfectly made my skin look flawless, giving high definition results as it says on the packaging. In terms of the price, they are about the same as other brands at £8.99 each from Superdrug.
I would definitely recommend the face brushes and i can’t wait to buy my next set of Real Techniques brushes.
I absolutely love the Kate Moss line of lipsticks from Rimmel, the colours are just up my street and they feel great. I only have the darker colours in the range so thought I’d buy a lighter, spring/summer shade. There were a lot of really nice summer colours but the one that caught my eye was number 28. It’s a pinky/coral-y colour that will look nice day-to-day but could also be used if you’re going out for drinks on a summer evening with friends. I’m pretty sure this will become one of my summer make up staples. Let me know your summer lipstick fave.
Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Varnish
Barry M is notorious for having excellent nail varnish in terms of quality and such a vast amount of shades, so when I went to buy some new colours, I was excited to see this new range, and I’m pretty sure this is a nail technology first.
Everyone has heard about Shellac or other gel nail polish where you have to cure the polish under UV lights, but unless you’re willing to pay to have your nails done every couple of weeks or pay a huge amount of money to have your own lamp and keep buying expensive polish, it can start to cost quite a lot. So as you can probably guess from the title, this new varnish from Barry M cures in daylight which is a very exciting development if it actually works.
I bought two colours; ‘For The Stars’, ‘Fuchsia Generation’ and the curing topcoat, which is needed for the curing to work and can only be used with the Sunset colours. I’ve been wearing ‘Fuchsia Generation’ for a couple of days now and it still looks as great as it did when I applied it so I’ve got high hopes this will be the answer to my prayers!
Connor Franta A Work in Process
I love Connor Franta and his YouTube videos. He is such an inspiration for both teenagers and adults around the World, so when I heard he was bringing out a memoir of his journey so far, I was extremely excited. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it!
As well as words, the book is full of beautiful pictures from both past and present that Connor is either in or has taken. If you’ve got the book, page 174 is my favourite!
I’m currently in the middle of a book, but can not wait to start this…it will definitely feature in my Book Club post next month, so watch out for it.
Have you made any purchases recently that are worth shouting about? Let me know in the comments?
