May Favourites

Can you believe that we’ve already reached June, and halfway through the year?! I have lots of events and holidays to look forward to in the next half of the year, so I’m hoping June-December goes just as quickly!

So, on to the things I’ve been enjoying in May. There are quite a few different types of things so I’m sure there will be something for everyone.

The Body Shop Pinita Colada Body Sorbet

I’m not going to lie, I am not an avid user of Body Shop products, but after seeing lots of hype over their Pinita Colada range of products, I was excited to visit my local store and not only buy the body sorbet, but smell it! And I was not disappointed. The smell is to die for. It’s that classic ‘holiday smell’ fragrance that takes you back to the beach from your favourite holiday. I find myself smelling my arms throughout the day to get another fix!

As well as the delicious smell of coconut and pineapple, the texture of the body sorbet is really luxurious. Never using a body sorbet before, I didn’t no what to expect, but the formula is really silky, sinking into your skin and not leaving that sticky, greasy residue you get with some moisturisers. It’s nice to be able to get dresses straight after using this and not feeling like your clothes are sticking to you!

I’ve definitely noticed that my skin, arms especially, are more moisturised which is great. I’m hoping that this range is something that is going to be around for quite a while as it certainly lives up to the hype.

If you haven’t already, make sure you head over the The Body Shop website, or your local store to pick up either the body sorbet or another product from the range.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil

So whilst I was in The Body Shop lusting over the Pinita Colada range, I looked at their Vitamin E products as I had also heard good things and read rave reviews about these. I was in the market for a new overnight serum as, even though I can not talk highly enough about Dermalogica, I still have a few patches of dry skin.

The first night I used this, I thought it looked incredibly greasy on my face which scared me slightly (I since think I used too much product to begin with!), but stuck with it. And I’m glad I did. In the morning my skin had soaked up all of the product and moisture leaving my skin feeling, and looking, amazing. In just that one night, the dry patches in between my eyebrows and between my nose and mouth has disappeared. I’ve been using it every night for about two weeks now and I’m really happy with the results.

Girl On The Train

I was definitely late to this train *excuse the pun*, but couldn’t resist jumping on the bandwagon and giving this book, by Paul Hawkins, a read.

Wow…I could not put this book down! I don’t want to give the story away for anyone that hasn’t read it, but the twists and turns that happen throughout the story keep you on edge every step of the way.

I especially love how the book is written from multiple points of view. I regularly found myself finishing one chapter and then skipping ahead a couple of chapters to see what happened next for that specific character.

Although it has quite a few twists and turns, it’s well written so is easy to read, and perfect for your summer getaway.

I purchased it at my local Tesco, but you can of course get this online at Amazon. It’s also available to download on Kindle and Audible.

New Look Tie Up Flat Sandal

I have been looking for some tie up flat sandals for quite a long time now. A trend for the summer, as you can expect, there are a lot of options on the high street at the moment so it was slightly overwhelming when looking to purchase a pair. I knew I could trust my spiritual home, ASOS, to come up trumps (and lets not forget that I earned those all important a-list points!) and have the best selection.

With everything in one place, I didn’t have to spend hours trawling the internet or shops. There were two pairs that caught my eye. One plain black, and the other with a more espadrille look. I opted for the plain black just because I thought they would go with more items in my spring wardrobe, and I could definitely get away with wearing them on colder days, where as the espadrille pair have more of a summer vibe. That being said though, they are in my ‘saved’ items ready to purchase!

I can’t describe how much I love these shoes! It’s quite embarrassing really as I wear them all the time (no exaggeration!) and are now my staple spring/summer shoes. They are incredible easy to wear and go with everything; jeans, dresses, shorts…and even pyjamas when I’m putting the bins out!

You can purchase them through ASOS here.

Drake – One Dance

I absolutely love Drake, who doesn’t?! But this song is one of his best in my opinion. The face this song has been number 1 in the UK charts for 8 consecutive weeks, and still is, says it all.

From his latest album, Views, this song has a real summer vibe – you want to wind down the car windows and turn the volume up, singing to your hearts content just like you’re James Corden on Carpool Karaoke!

The other songs on his album that I would recommend listening to, if you haven’t already, are ‘Too Good’ with Rihanna and ‘Controlla’.

Rich Kids of Beverley Hills

Any of my friends will tell you that I am seriously addicted to reality tv. Is there a reality tv help group? My fascination with reality tv all started with Laguna Beach, and then stepped up a level with The Hills and of course, Keeping up with the Kardashains. These tv programmes have a lot to answer for in terms of the wasted hours I watch re-runs when there is definitely something more cultural I could be doing!

When Rich Kids of Beverley Hills came along, to be honest, I didn’t have high hopes. But who am I kidding, any series created by E! is going to be a hit with not only me, but their target audience.

Watching the trials and tribulations of Morgan and her super stylish, super rich squad who have more #goals than anybody else is hilarious (whilst slightly depressing at the same time!). EJ, the flamboyant son of Magic Johnson, is my absolute fave! An over the top, self confessed diva he doesn’t mince his words. We are five episodes into the fourth series where we are following the wedding plans of Morgan and Brendan, and of course these plans are not without drama, which seems to constantly follow them everywhere!

If you’re addicted or love reality tv just like me, you can watch Rich Kids of Beverley Hills on E!, Sundays at 10pm.
